Diagnostic Writing Clinic

Also known as "Option 2" in the Writing Lab, this option is open for any interested HGO student who feels they need help to become a better writer. Specifically designed lessons work on student problem areas. For example:

• Choosing a topic
• Narrowing the topic
• Writing topic sentences
• Writing supporting sentences in paragraphs
• Writing concluding sentence
• Giving specific examples
• Writing a hook and introduction
• Writing a thesis
• Writing the body paragraphs of an essay
• Writing a five paragraph essay
• Writing a good conclusion
• Writing paragraphs with unity and cohesion
• Brainstorming
• Planning and organizing
• Revising
• Self-editing

The cost for four lessons and initial consultation and placement is 20,000 won. (or about $20 US).

Cho Sung-Ah (pictured below) is the first (and so far only...) student who I have assisted following option #2 this semester. Tuesday was her 3rd lesson and her writing is improving! (She was considerate enough to bring me the drink you see in front of her-How kind!)
