Kimchi Anyone?!
KIMCHI INFESTATION: Please avoid eating Kimchi at school or in restaurants. A recent study on imported cheap Chinese kimchi in Korea has shown many commercially imported Kimchi to contain worm eggs and parasites. Korea has been steadily importing the bulk of their Kimchi because of the huge cost differential. It's 50% cheaper to import than make locally. However, the Chinese have been using human excrement to fertilize their cabbages and then harvesting and preparing them for fermenting without proper washing. Despite this warning from the public health administration and the confiscating of the latest shipload of Kimchi from China, the latest news this morning states that import companies have seen a higher demand for the discounted Kimchi. It appears the restaurants don't care what they feed their customers as long as Kimchi is on the table.
