"For this God is our God for ever and ever; and will be our guide even to the end." (Psalm 48:14)

This is my prayer for everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord in spirit and truth!

One of the oh-so-kind-and-helpful employees of the Handong University Bookstore. (They are all such a great group of Christian servants.)

Korean Christian bookstores have lots of neat things like this awesome miniature bible key-chain! Speaking of key-chains, here's a "key-chain" you better hope you are not around to see.."And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the KEY to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great CHAIN." (Revelation 20:1)

My bible key-chain even has "The Ten Commandments" (Exodus 20) and "The Lord's Prayer" (Matthew 6). Pretty cool!

Oli Jacobsen - "NEW TRIBES MISSIONS"

God really used last Sunday's guest-speaker, Oli Jacobsen, to stongly remind me of the NEED for missions and how our time is very limited to join God in His work.
Here are a few jewels from his sermon:
"Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words."
We need to stand up as Christians before we speak as Christians.
Teacher to students on 1st day - "There are 2 ways to take this class: seriously or again!
"Just as products have a shelf life, so our time is limited. We have a time frame between Christ's ascension in Acts chapter 1 and Christ's 2nd coming. This is the church's shelf life. In our lives, it is much shorter..."
"In the book of Acts, there are 18 formal audiences. So as we see, the book of Acts is all about proclaiming and being witnesses."
"On everyone's tombstone there are 2 dates (your birth and death) with a dash in between. How are you spending your dash?! (Much more important than "How are you spending your cash?") It is the dash that represents the life. We have only 1 life to live!"
"We are witnesses wherever we are - with lips and life."
"Acts 1:1 mentions that Christ's work is unfinished. Of course, we recognize and LOVE the finished work of Christ on the cross for our salvation, but there remains work to be done..."
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." (John 14:12) Not greater in importance, but impact! Not in guality but quantity!
.It is through us that God intends to proclaim the work of Christ to the nations.
"Just as the angels spoke to the disciples as they gazed upon Jesus ascending into the clouds in Acts 1:9-11, God says, "QUIT GAZING AND GO! QUIT LOOKING AND START LABOURING!"
"There are no innocent bystanders in Missions. If you're a bystander, you're not innocent."
"Witnessing and proclaiming Christ is not about personalities but about the power of The Holy Spirit through ordinary people like you and me."
"We must remove the Do Not Disturb Sign from our heart.
"Lord, where you lead me, I will follow.
What you feed me, I will swallow."
"Those overseas get in touch with The Lord Jesus (not missionaries!). Then lives are changed - they never remain the same!"
"Just as there are many "no-names of Scripture whose role was important, (exs: girl servant who told Naaman about the Lord's prophet, Elisha, the boy with 5 loaves and two fish..just to name a few) so each of us has an important role to play in furthering the kingdom of God."
Acts 14:1 says, "They spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Gentiles believed.." This is how we should be communicating to outsiders. NOT like Lot, who when he tried to warn his son-in-laws about the destruction of Sodom, "they thought he was joking." (Genesis 19:14) And as a result, they were destroyed..
"We must not allow our lives to be contradictory to the gospel and hypocritical, like the sign in front of the convent which read:
Absolutely NO trespassing allowed. Any person caught trespassing will be punished by the full extent of the law. (Signed "The sisters of Mercy")
"It could be very easy to be self centred as we are naturally selfish. It's part of human nature."
"Interesting to note that the disciples did not return to Galilee (their home - where they were from) but to Jerusalem. Why? Perhaps because that is where Jesus was hated most..."
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:20, "We ARE Christ's ambassador's..." NOT "We should be"!!! WE ARE!! Whether we like it or not. What kind of ambassador are you?

Thank God for phone cards!! This card (which can be bought for 12,000 in front of the Hamilton Hotel Shopping Mall in Itaewon) allows me to call home for 4 HOURS!!! Wow! And yes, "If I were a bird, I would fly home to you"! :-)

Our campus mascot, "HANDONG"!! She recently just had puppies I heard but I'm not sure where she keeps them...

The other dog which can be seen often around the small store on campus. "Handong's sidekick". Anyone know this cute little guy's name?

Students selling "pineapple smoothies" as part of their Management project during lunch time. Yummy!!! (and only 2,000 won!)

Yong-Bum, one of my old students from last year. Doesn't he look like the dude on the "10,000 won bill"?! (Sounds like a LOT but it's only worth about $10 US!!) Facial hair isn't that common here...

Campus banner letting people know about an upcoming CCC (Campus Crusade for Christ) conference being held June 27th-June 1. May God raise up a generation of Christians who long to make Him known!
