My "Gamma Class gents" hard at work. Every evening from 7-8:20 pm (after dinner), we have "pronunciaition, journal writing or topic writing". Tonight was topic writing.

Lee Ji-Young, the other coffee shop waitress who works the evening shift (5-9pm) at English Only Zone at GSNU. Sorry, gents, she already has a boyfriend! :-) (Funny how all my male students already knew that!...Hmmm)

Aaron and the charming students of Omega Class!!! (Hey, Aaron, don't you sometimes feel like you are being observed "under a miscroscope"?! ha!ha!)

Lamba class "I have a dream workshop" end of class quiz champions! (and so winners of a "cafe mocha")

Now that's what I call a book-mark!!! (Sad thing is I can't remember who gave this to me!!!)

On Sunday after service, Bruce (Bong-Gyu) came over for coffee before I headed off for camp again. He gave me this sample meal ticket from the Handong campus cafeteria and told me that after hearing his suggestion, they have decided to put Bible verses on each meal ticket! AWESOME!!! (Isaiah 55:11)

What an awesome gift! Thanks, MOM!

AMEN! (and as it continues inside the card, "You hold a special place in His heart and a special purpose in this world...and that makes you irreplaceable.") My mom wrote in addition "But of course you already know that, love Mum. XOX" "...You are precious to Me. You are honored, and I love you." (Isaiah 43:4)

Congratulations to Eric and Bonnie. This is a still frame of the "update" message they sent out to many of us announcing their engagement! Shocker!! :-) Eric is currently visiting her and her family in the States and they will both return to study at Handong. This will be Bonnie's first time at HGU. Can't wait to celebrate with you guys in person!!!

Thank God for gifts from back home!!! I really don't deserve to have such a fantastic family who cares so deeply for me even though I'm crap with staying in touch at times!

Yes, the gifts did arrive and were waiting for me at the office! Thanks SO MUCH, Mom, and everyone back home!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and CAN'T WAIT to see you all in just a few weeks!!!

Saw this beautiful calendar in my office when I went to Pohang for the weekend. It was given to all professors as a gift from Handong University. Our "Issues and Topic Discussioin" last Saturday was supposed to be on "Evolution vs. Creationism" but that never did happen as we were given permission to take our students into town instead at that time.

Now that's talent!

Couldn't think of a more appropriate message!!!! :-)

What is a "stained glass window workshop" without some students making a Dok-Do political campaign?! ha!ha!

One of the Beta class "stain glassed windows"

This picture doesn't do our elementary school camp teacher, Catherin Simth, justice at all! As she explained to me, she was SO tired (I can only imagine with those kids!) but I rarely run into elementary teachers as we have quite different schedules. Keep up the great work, Catherin! From what I've seen, the kids love you!

Mattew Earmans is one of the friendliest and most responsible middle school teachers we have on camp. His enthusiasm is quite contagious! Mattew and his wife (she's currently in Spain) are expecting a child in April! Congratulations once again, Mattew!!

Kim Ashman is one of our more energetic university teachers at the camp. She teaches the "stain glassed window workshop". I am always quite impressed with the stuff the kids produce during her workshop!

Karly Stones is one of the biggest heartbreakers of the male university students, ha!ha! She is a fellow Canuck from Vancouver. I believe her workshop is on a boardgame. She teaches at the University of Education in Jinju.

Aaron Raisay (or "gangster teacher" as some of the students affectionately refer to him as) is another uni instructor at the camp. His workshop is on a puzzle game native to New Zealand. Can you guess where he might be from?

Dale Arnold is also teaching university students at the camp. He does a "chess workshop" and he's proven to be pretty good at "foot volleyball"!

A fellow university camp teacher, Michael Jessen, who teaches "recycling" for his workshop. Michael is also from Canada.

Stuart Grant (middle school camp teacher) giving us some attitude at 8:30am, ha!ha!

Another middle school camp teacher, Anthony Gough!

One of our middle school camp teachers, Jorden Pritchard, all pumped for another 8:30am teacher's meeting!

Park Ji-Ho from Gamma class proudly showing off his stained glass window project from Kim's workshop.

The Doctrine of God - Justice of God

"Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead." (Acts 17:31)
The justice of God is the active extension of the holiness of God into the matters of decision. It implies that God has the authority and ability to establish the standard for all relationships and that He will be consistent in relating to His obedient and disobedient creatures. The justice of God is both legislative and distributive.
Illustration: When Abraham attempted to prevent the destruction of Sodom, he appealed to God's justice: he knew the Judge of all the earth would do right (Gen. 18:25).
Application: So today, everyone can have confidence that God will deal with him justly, but the believer may additionally plead God's mercy.

"The Ladies of Shalom"! (and Min-Pastor Young-Ho's wife-2nd from the left) (Their group name for a 4 week intensive discipleship camp going on at Handong.) This was taken just after Sunday service at HIC (Handong International Church). It was great seeing all these godly women there and worshipping the Lord with them.

The "Ladies of Shalom" poster. It's a shame someone spilled coffee on it but Elsie's going to fix it up she tells me. :-)

One of the cute posters on the wall at church at Handong. From EHDS (English Handong Discipleship School) which has finished 2 weeks and has 2 weeks more to go. (Exact same time schedule as my camp in Jinju!)

Kim Ashman (in the front!) with Sigma class. We bumped into them at the bowling alley. (Don't worry, no one was hurt, ha!ha!) They are a real fun group of guys and gals!

Beta Class bowling on Saturday, January 6th as a kind of "wrap up the week activity" after the standard Saturday morning tests (written and oral) and lunch.

Beta Class Bowling Team #4: Bong-Jin (BongJin, you look so "gangsta"!), Yun-Gun and Tae-Wook. Tae-Wook was Saturday's champion with a score of 132. Pretty sad when the crippled guy (broken toe from a cow!) beats everyone at bowling!!!

Beta Class Bowling Team #3: Young-Hwan, Dong-Soo and Hyun-Dong.

Beta Class bowling team #2: Eum-Han, Joong-Sik and Bu-Hyun.

Beta Class bowling team #1: Andy, Sung-Won, Young-Woong and In-Geol. Scores were (respectively) 120, 123, 122 and 76 wasn't it, In Geol?! :-)

Today's pronunciation practice phrase - "Bowling is not boring!"

Sung-Won wolfing down some rice. Sung Won is affectionately referred to as "Monkey" by his classmates as his name Lee Sung-Won sounds quite similar to the word for Monkey in Korean-"Won-Sung-Ee".

Young Woong and Joong-Sik digging in at "Aunt's restaurant" just outside the backgate of GSNU. Uni classes got permission this week to have lunch in town! We feasted on duk jim (spicy fried chicken), mandu (dumplings) and I had "king dongas (pork cutlet)" as that chicken is bloody well spicy!

One of the ladies from Zeta class coming over to get Dong-Soo's phone number on behalf of one of her classmates. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon uni classes are on a 4 week camp and majority of guys while Kappa, Omega, Lamda, Zeta and Sigma are on a 3 week camp and mostly females. The #1 complaint from the gentlemen is "we want to mix with the chicks!" Boys will be boys.

Karly Stones and Lamda Class!

Tuan, who is from Vietnam, is a "Messenger" for the camp. He has many responsibilities which mostly include helping out the directors. He started working at GSNU at the last summer camp and he's awesome to work with.
