Introduction to Doctrine 6 - Witness of the Spirit
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" (Romans 8:16)
The witness of the Spirit is the inner assurance of God's truth. One of the conditions of this inner conviction concerning the things of God is obedience to His known will (John 7:17). God uses this ministry of the Holy Spirit to convince us of truth that cannot be understood other than through divine help (Matt. 16:17).
Illustration: This witness was obvious in Peter's confession of Christ (Matt. 16:16-17). Even though others had observed Christ and drawn certain erroneous conclusions, Peter received spiritual insight from God as to who Jesus really was (Matt. 16:17). This enlightenment did not mean he had nothing more to learn, because perhaps within minutes of his confession, he was being rebuked by Jesus for his lack of spiritual insight (Matt. 16:23).
Application: Christians should be careful always to obey the clearly revealed will of God, so as not to hinder this minstry in their lives.

March 1st Declaration of Independence Monument
At around 2pm on the 1st day of March 1919, national leaders including Son Byeong-Hui got together in Taehwagwan to open an independence declaration ceremony as a starting point of igniting a nationwide independence movement. Dedicated to honor the spirit of independence, the Monument of March First Movements Declaration was at first set up on August 15, 1963, in Pagoda Park, the very place where the monument was launched by the Peoples Coalition for National Recontruction Movement with a donation and support from the people. However, the monument had been neglected for 12 years since it was taken down during the reconstruction of the park in 1979. Many people started to voice out the necessity to restore the monument, so eventually it was rebuilt in 1922 in Seodaemun Independence Park, a site of anti-Japanese independence movement.
On the back of the monument of 4.2 meters high are engraved the independence declaration and the names of 33 national representatives who led the March First Movement.
