As the old poem goes,
"Poems are made by fools like me but only God can make a tree"!!!

Introduction to Doctrine 6 - Witness of the Spirit

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" (Romans 8:16)

The witness of the Spirit is the inner assurance of God's truth. One of the conditions of this inner conviction concerning the things of God is obedience to His known will (John 7:17). God uses this ministry of the Holy Spirit to convince us of truth that cannot be understood other than through divine help (Matt. 16:17).
Illustration: This witness was obvious in Peter's confession of Christ (Matt. 16:16-17). Even though others had observed Christ and drawn certain erroneous conclusions, Peter received spiritual insight from God as to who Jesus really was (Matt. 16:17). This enlightenment did not mean he had nothing more to learn, because perhaps within minutes of his confession, he was being rebuked by Jesus for his lack of spiritual insight (Matt. 16:23).
Application: Christians should be careful always to obey the clearly revealed will of God, so as not to hinder this minstry in their lives.

"Weeds & Vines" ha!ha!

"Isolation"

"Dear sisters"...You'd never guess from the warm smiles on these girls faces that they fight like cats and dogs from time to time, ha!ha!

I LOVE this photo!

Don't play coy with us, little lady!

Picture like this truly capture the beauty of Korea for me: This precious child as she talks with what seems to be her grandmother with such respect and honor as her adorable little brother sleeps on in peace snuggly tied on nanny's back.

The most skilled artist labouring for years and years over a canvas could never hope in his/her lifetime to recreate 1/1,000,000 of the beauty that is found in even the Master's "most common creations".

Sweet!

Nice!

March 1st Declaration of Independence Monument

At around 2pm on the 1st day of March 1919, national leaders including Son Byeong-Hui got together in Taehwagwan to open an independence declaration ceremony as a starting point of igniting a nationwide independence movement. Dedicated to honor the spirit of independence, the Monument of March First Movements Declaration was at first set up on August 15, 1963, in Pagoda Park, the very place where the monument was launched by the Peoples Coalition for National Recontruction Movement with a donation and support from the people. However, the monument had been neglected for 12 years since it was taken down during the reconstruction of the park in 1979. Many people started to voice out the necessity to restore the monument, so eventually it was rebuilt in 1922 in Seodaemun Independence Park, a site of anti-Japanese independence movement.
On the back of the monument of 4.2 meters high are engraved the independence declaration and the names of 33 national representatives who led the March First Movement.

Wow!

Seems to be just another beautiful scene...but on closer inspection, there is something sinister revealed in this photo! Just who is that on that park bench under the trees?!

Oh, my goodness! It looks like Kim Jong Il secretly came down to South Korea and is hiding out here, pretending to be a tourist!

Isn't this a beautiful photo?! (Now if only those 2 strange women would move out of the way! ha!ha!)

The whole gang on Sunday for lunch!

East meets West

It's always a real joy when I am able to share time with Canadian friends and Korean friends at the same time who have never met before. Such was the case on Sunday at lunch with my good friends Fred, Solange & the An sisters.
