HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM!!!! I love you more than words can say! I couldn't ask for a better mother and one of the hardest things about being in Korea is not being able to see you more often!

Abraham took this shot. I love how he caught one of the streamers that was hanging from the lights in the picture!

Mark Buzby's 53rd birthday party celebration! Abraham, Christine, Jeannie, Victor, Chris, Tarik, Tim, Eun-Suk, Joanne and of course, Mark!

Since we were having so much fun watching Mark's "15 minutes of fame" on TV, Tim ran over to his apartment and got the movie "In Country". Tim was an extra in that film when he was 17 years old. This is him in one scene. I didn't realize I was working with such a talented group of Hollywood stars, ha!ha!

I think I got everyone in this shot except for Christine who was off to the side. Here we are watching Mark's entertaining episode from "The Dating Game" years ago. It was such a blessing to have so many of my colleagues over at one time. A truly wonderful evening.

Mark Buzby in 1986 when he was on "The Dating Game"!!!

The birthday boy!

Mark takes in a BIG breath to blow out the candles on his 53rd birthday cake!!!

We thought this would be a great birthday gift for Mark!!! :-) The "guys" signed this book like a card while the "gals" signed a birthday card. I love what Tarik inscribed: "Happy Birthday, Mark. Hope this books proves to be prophetic." Amen!

A closer look at Mark Buzby's chocolate birthday cake! Delicious!!!

The Bukbu 3:45pm "Stranger on the Road to Emmaus DVD/workbook Bible Study" group. Charity (my cousin through marriage) is on the top left corner and Tim North (teacher at Handong International Highschool), 2nd from R in the back, is leading it.

This is the Bible study we are going through at BukBu Church Sunday afternoons after the 2pm English service. A great study and I am thinking of leading a group with this DVD/workbook next semester at Handong (God willing!).

"Couple shirts" are very popular in Korea. Usually the couple wears the EXACT same shirt. This couple has an even more interesting set of shirts: The guy's points to the left and reads "This is my girlfriend" while the girl's points to the right and reads "This is my boyfriend". That must be odd to always make sure that you are walking on the right side, ha!ha!

Members of our Thursday Bible Study: Seung-Hoon, Seung-Min, Su-Young and Tim. I always look forward to going through the book of John on Thursday evenings!

Got this cute keychain from Jake who has returned from his honeymoon in Australia. It was SO considerate to get each member of the department this souvenir!!!

The Doctrine of Christ - Atonement

"And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house." (Leviticus 16:6)
Although theologians tend to use the term atonement to summarize Christ's work on the Cross, it occurs only in the Old Testament (Romans 5:11 is better translated "reconciliation"), and only relates to one part of what was accomplished for us, that is, the cover of our sins. This word probably means "cover", and is first used where Noah is commanded to cover the ark with pitch (Gen. 6:14).
Illustration: Just as the ark was a "type" of Christ in saving His people from judgment (Hebrews 11:7), the "cover" within and without emphasized the means whereby our salvation is secure-that is, our sins are covered by the blood of Christ. This covering of sin is an expression of God's love for mankind (Prov. 10:12).
Application: When a Christian hears about another's failings, he should both forgive and forget the event. All believers should follow Christ's example and seek to build up the fallen one, rather than follow the natural inclinations to engage in gossip. (Prov. 17:9)
