Seoul Definitely Has Soul at Night

A freaky shot of Seoul City Hall (on "night landscape mode without flash") as a bus was going by!!!

Seoul City Hall late on a Sunday evening

The "Dong-A-Il-Bo building" ("Dong-A newspaper) which is quite a beautiful piece of architecture. Each of the floors light up with different colors from time to time. (which must be quite a distraction for cars driving by!)

"Chung-Gae-Chun"; the newly constructed promenade in Seoul which is all the rave these days. Looked like a great place for an evening stroll.

Kwang Hwa Moon ("Kwang Hwa Gate")

The Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul

The Marriott and the moon

Seoul is known as "the city of a thousand neon crosses". A great encouragement for those in Christ and no doubt a constant aggravation for those who choose to live according to the flesh.

The Han River looking pretty funky on "night landscape mode"

Ansan Mission Church Evening Service

Ansan Mission Church has English evening service every Sunday 7:30-9pm (mostly for foreign factory workers who work gruelling hours to send money back home). 4 different deacons from SIBC usually take turns preaching there each week.

Ansan Mission Church! I love this church! People from so many different countries of the world together worshipping God - a small taste of what heaven will be like!

I always smile when I see this photo at Ansan. Yes, "hand phones" are quite "handy" - so, why not call them "handy phones", I guess!

Pastor Oh of the Ansan Mission Church who has been serving the international community for many, many years. This week the Filipino members are starting a 40 day "Purpose Driven Life" study. Awesome! May God continue to abundantly bless Pastor Oh, his wife and their important ministry!

Jack (assistant to Pastor Oh) and his beautiful family who have been faithfully serving the Lord and the international community in Ansan for a good number of years.

Pastor Serafin Sarkar and his friend, Joshua. Both gentlemen are from Bangladesh and are studying at The Asia United Theological University, here in South Korea. (Please pray for them and Bangladesh!)

Peter (Ansan Mission church worship leader for the past several years) and his charming family!

SIBC Fall Picnic, Sunday, October 16th, 2005

My favorite photo of the SIBC picnic: "The TIMinator and his faithful side-kick, Mari!" When you are as cool as this, the sun shines on you 24/7!

My 2nd favorite photo of the SIBC picnic: "Owen makes rightful claim to Owen Avenue!"

The boys hanging out!

Janita and Kumudu from Sri Lanka. Janita is Kumudu's niece and doesn't normally attend SIBC church as she lives so far away. We were blessed with her presence on Sunday though! :-)

Peter and Meliza Mazur! (expecting a new addition to their family soon...)

2 of my favorite women of SIBC: Esther McIntyre and Pamela Creech!

Pamela and John (aka "Indiana Jones") Richards being interrupted by a silly Canadian as they try to enjoy their picnic!

Great to see the newly weds, Thomas (Tom) and Jamie Blood, at the picnic!

Mr. Eom and Bill Morgan listening to another edition of "the adventures of Ken Danley", ha!ha!

Good food!

Good fun!

Good fellowship!

Al Soper (SIBC deacon) taking photos during the picnic. (No, he's not holding that sign...it's just in the background!)

An So-Young!

Photos That Will Never Make The News

Sometimes in our everyday lives we tend to forget what's going on elsewhere in the world and that the brave men and women of the service are just like you and me. They have family and friends back home who love them very much and are praying for their safe return. Stop for a moment and say a prayer for the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and around the world. This can be very powerful. Of all the gifts you could send someone in the more dangerous parts of the world, prayer is definitely the very best one!
