Grading Guidelines for DLE core classes.
Department of Language Education, Handong Global University
Ao and A+ - maximum of 30%
Bo and higher - maximum of 70%
Co and higher - maximum of 100%
Conditions: -This guidline is applicable to EF (English Foundation), EC (English Communication), ERD (English Reading and Discussion) and EGC (English Grammar and Composition) classes.

One thought enters my mind as I finish calculating my EGC class grades: "THANK GOD OUR LORD DOESN'T MARK ON THE CURVE!" Imagine if God was like that, "Yes, my son, I know that you put your faith in my Son, Jesus, but I can only allow 30% of the population to enter Heaven!" Thanks God that there are no prerequisites other than being covered by the blood of The Lamb!

Out of 2 sections of EGC (a class of 17 students and another of 16)
4 got A+
6 got A
3 got B+
9 got B
3 got C+
1 got C
1 got D+
1 got D
5 got F (mostly due to attendance and incomplete assignments...)
Now, technically, according to these "rules", I should only give 9.9 people As but as a few of them are kind of short, I guess that's okay, ha!ha!
Korean universities are known for giving out As like candy so part of me understands the need for such a mark distribution rule. They had a similar policy in Catholic University where I worked 2 years and no one seemed to have a problem with it there. My concern is that it will not work (and create fear/anger towards English courses) if the WHOLE university does not implement this policy. As crazy as it sounds, only our English department is following this policy to the letter. There are departments at Handong in which 89% of the students received As!!!! Can you believe it?!

Be loved by someone..This is not always good.If someone you don’t like say to you that he loves you… It’s a cause for anxiety.And especially in this small group- Handong…The rumor spread~~ out and out… until everyone except me know the unfounded report.What a disaster!I think I have a headache… give me some advice to solve this…problem…

I learned important lesson today.I took general chemistry quiz; the result was really bad.Last quiz was difficult but I missed only one problem so I had decided I would study hard and prepare next quiz that I could take perfect score this time. I prepared this quiz for a week. But… God didn’t accept me to take that score. Just half … of the full score was mine. I cried whole chemistry class… and asked God…. “Why!!!!”Then I realized what God’s purpose was.He wanted me to see the poor….Even though they work HARD, they just get a little amount of money that isn’t enough for maintaining their life. Even though they tried hard!!!It’s blessing… if the result comes out as much as we put our effort.

The Street of Life
What is your street of life? We live for the street of life. Without the street, our life will be not worth a farthing. My street is glory of God, but truthfully, I don't know well what the glory is, as yet. Thus, I'm finding the God's purpose which is given to me with the words of bible and a prayer. When I think the God’s purpose that is given to me, my heart goes pit-a-pat with joy. If I didn't find this purpose, my life would be hopeless. I thank God who gives present of calling to me.

The weather
These days, the weather is very very good~~!!I want to just go somewhere.. kekeke.Sky is very clear, and clouds are pretty white.Flowers are truely pretty.Strong wind is a error, however, even if I love hadong weather~!!Shell I just go around, and taking a beautiful picture of sight?So happy~~^^Thanks God~~!!!Halleluiah~!!!!

It is hard to me in this semester, especially.Heat transfer is very hard...However, I will thank God.Because of Jesus, I can live, breathe, and study.My studying has to be a service for God.Study, and give people!!!!

I lost my bag.
I lost my important bag at room # 110 in 1st engineering building.There are a PDA, my house key, and the other important things.I am so sad...Can I find that until tomorrow??oh..!! My Lord~~!!Please, find me back my bag~~

After some weeks, this semester is going to end.It's so buzy these day~~I have three final project and 5 final exam.My schedule is full... there is no free time...I have to reduce my sleep time.Already I'm tired...Oh!! My God~~!!!Please, give me strengthI want to win this semester!!!GO FOR IT!!!

Twins
There is saying that blood is deeper than water. Then, have you ever heard follow saying: amniotic fluid is deeper than blood? Of course, you didn’t hear these words, because I made these words. I’m monocular twins. Now, my brother, who is the perfect image of me, live in Seoul, and goes to Seoul National University. He and I also have same major, Mechanical Engineering. At first, I hated the fact that I’m twins. However the more time goes by, the more I love the fact. Amniotic fluid is deeper than blood. Love of us, twins by amniotic fluid is deeper than other brothers by blood.

Why You Writed That?
A short time ago, I read a book, Handangogi which is about ancient history of Korea and was written by Youn-Su, Gye who was a historian of Korea in the beginning of the nineteen-hundreds. I was very surprised after reading the book because of the contents of the book. The contents are as follows.
There was a country called Gojosun to Korea. This country was very powerful so, Many country obeyed to the country. In result, a territory of the country was so extensive: including almost all Asia. In other words, Gojosun was the biggest country at that time.I think the fact that almost all Asia was Korean possession in ancient time is naturally wrong. Then, why a writer put down the wrong contents in the book. I want to ask to him about that.

The Importance of Modesty (Introduction)
There is a quotation saying that too much is as bad as too little. This saying has been teaching many lessons to us. Especially, this proverb tip to us about the importance of modesty. By birth, we had self-admiration, greed, and selfishness so; we show a tendency to like too many things and want to show many our possessions to other people. On this account, we ultimately become to go to extremes, and this status will be worse rather than shortage. We will lose many things, when we want a lot of things. Thus, we should take this lesson, too much is as bad as too little, to heart; consequently, we will be able to obtain the power of influence, faith, and love of God through having this mind.

Today is Lord's Day
Today is a lord's day. I go to outside church, not Handong Global University Church. After I ate breakfast with a friend, took a school bus for going to church. I'm one of the chore people so; I practiced a sacred song before our service was started. A title of a sacred song of today is 'Great is Thy Faithfulness', and the words of a song are following as:Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changes not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.I received benefits through this song. I'm leader of a young people's group in my church, so I prayed on behalf of the whole students for today service. After ending of the service, we took lunch, and I came back to my dormitory of Handong Global University.
