My "cousin" in Corea....

Well, it's about time I posted a pic of my "kind of" cousin, Charity Brown!
(To be more precise, she is my grandmother's niece's husband's niece. Her family name just happens to be Brown as well but there is no blood relation. It's a rather complicated situation, so I will hence forth call her "my cousin".)
I found out that she came to Korea to teach at a language institute IN THE SAME CITY I AM LIVING IN (POHANG) while I was home on vacation this past winter. (What are the chances?!) The funny thing is that we had NEVER met before and the first time I met her was in Pohang a few months ago.
Due to the extra amount of work I have around mid-term time, I decided to stay in Pohang this weekend. I drove into town with Peter Fama and his wife, Johanne, and another colleague, Timothy Hooker. It was great to see Charity as it was only the 2nd time we've met! I especially enjoyed the bible study we had with a great group of people after the service! (We studied Romans Chapter 2)
It was GREAT spending time with a unique group of people in Pohang and worshiping my Lord with different brothers and sisters in Christ!

CHARITY Brown! (Gotta love that name!)

Andy and Charity Brown...No, we are NOT married, ha!ha! (taken at Bukbu Church, Pohang, Sunday, April 24th)

Did You Know...

The meaning of the Word
The dictionary defines word in this way: "the smallest unit of meaningful linguistic communication." We all know what words are. But do you know that the Bible refers to the Word as a special type of communication from God? In the Old Testament, the term the Word of God is used 394 times to identify a message - a commandment, prophesy, warning, or encouragement - God spoke directly to humankind. The term includes the written form of God's message - the Bible. The Bible is called "the word of God" (Ps. 119). In the New Testament, the term is also used as a name for Jesus: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1)
God interacts with us by giving us His words written in the Bible. His ultimate act of communication comes through the gift of His Son. Jesus - the Word, the Son of God - "became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14) You see, God's Word is His communication to you. Are you listening to His special message?
