Jim (James Kruska) keeping the kids busy at the "Hockey Shooting" booth.

Dong-Hyun from Delta class taking the "Basketball Challenge". As with most of these sports-like events at the flea market, there was a different line (distance) for elementary, middle school and university students.

Moran in charge. The object of this event was for the student to (from a good distance) hit the paper cup off the ash-tray with a tennis ball.

"Hockey Shooting" was very popular at the 2005-2006 GSNU English Winter Camp Flea Market.

Ruy Lopes giving this student some Canadian hockey tips for the "Hockey Shot Challenge".

The Coin Toss mat. Anyone interested could toss a 100 won coin (from outside the taped line) and if the coin landed on a circle marked "one", they got one ticket and so on.

Dong Soo from from Beta class giving the "Coin Toss event" a try. It's much harder than it looks. I believe Stuart (in the photo) put this thing together entirely himself.

Some of that face painting stuff got pretty scary, ha!ha!

"Alright...just put the candy down...I don't want any trouble here! Don't make me call the authorities..."

My view from the "Count the Candies booth" on Flea Market Day looking toward the main entrance of the "English Only Zone Building" at Gyungsang National University.

Jacqueline organized this activity: "Count the Candies". For 1 ticket, students guessed the number of candies in the jar. We wrote it down (& each kid got a candy for guessing!) and Daniel announced the winner at 5:30. It was a cute elementary school girl who won and she was quite excited of course!

The popular "Rugby Toss"! Like the sign says, 1 ticket (500 won or about 0.50$US) gets you 3 chances (to throw the rugby ball through a small hoop suspended in air). Each time you get it through, you get 2 tickets.

The flea market was a great chance for kids from elementary school to mingle with middle school and uni students.

After 3 hours, some of these kids really became quite the professional salesmen!!! (and all in English!)

Yoo-Min from Epsilon class (uni) giving Dale's booth a shot...better luck next time!

Dale had a great "darts booth" where for one ticket (500 won) a person picked 2 #s out of a hat. You then got 5 darts. If you hit the bull's-eye or either of your #s, you got a choco-pie! Great job, Dale! Your booth was a lot of fun and very popular with all!

Face painting!

Gamma guys...Is that ALL the items your entire class collected for the flea market?! :-)

Let the selling begin!

It was 2:30pm on Wednesday and the Flea Market was ready to roll...Used items had been collected by each class, price tags were attached, events were prepared... All the classes were lined up outside and Daniel steps up to the mic. .."Let the games begin!" (All proceeds to go to a local orphanage!!!) At 5:30, it was announced that our class (Delta) won 1st prize for selling the most! Praise God! (just under 60,000 won!) We were given mechanical pencils and orange juice for our effort.

The infamous penalty point system of GSNU English camp! It is possible for elementary and middle school students to be "awarded" bonus points but university students can only get penalized "penalty points"...

One of my favorite camp students, Lee Sung Won, next to King Kong! (Monkey is Won-Sung-ee which sounds a lot like Sung-Won's name...) :-)

The Doctrine of God - Sovereignty of God

"Wherein He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and understanding;" (Ephesians 1:8)
Sovereignty means God is the supreme Ruler over all. While we are free moral agents, we are, nevertheless, subject to His sovereign will and purposes. Everything is subject to His judgment. He is ultimately in control, although He often works indirectly through others.
Illustration: Even Satan cannot oppose the work of God unless God so permits. Before Satan could attack Job, he first had to obtain the permission of God (Job 1,2).
Application: Many Christians find great comfort in knowing that God is in control of their every circumstance.
