"A certain blind man sat by the way side begging saying, "Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me",..."What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight." And Jesus said unto him, "Receive thy sight..." (Luke 18:35-42)
The hands of Jesus reach out to bless us by bringing God's goodness to us...to make us whole by bringing God's power to us...to lift us up by bringing God's strength to us...to draw us close by bringing God's heart to us.

It Can Happen Again

A BOY gave his lunch to Jesus and 5,000 men, besides women and children, were fed.
A SLAVE GIRL spoke to her mistress about God-and her master, healed of his leprosy, became a devout believer.
ANDREW told Peter about Jesus and three years later Peter preached a sermon that won 3,000 souls for the Kingdom.
AN AGED MONK counseled Martin Luther to trust God's forgiveness of his sins-and Luther, finding peace with God, became the pioneer of Protestantism.
A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER visited Dwight Moody in the shoeshop where he worked, and spoke to him about Christ, and Moody became a world-renowned evangelist leading thousands to Christ.
HUDSON TAYLOR SAID "YES" UNRESERVEDLY TO GOD-and more than 1,200 missionaries have gone forth to China under the banner of the China Inland Mission which he founded.
A LITTLE GROUP OF STUDENTS met by a haystack to pray for the lands where the Gospel was unknown-and the great movement of American foreign missions was launched.
IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN! Will it happen to you?
"Ye shall be my witnesses" (Acts 1:8).

I LOVE this framed photo given to me by my identical twin brother, Adam. I always think about him praying over his 3 precious children and doing his best (with God's help) to be a spiritual role-model for them.
"There is a hatred which is downright charity: that is the hatred of erroneous doctrine. There is an intolerance which is downright praiseworthy: this is the intolerance of false doctrine in the pulpit." (J.C. Ryle)

Two of our extremely helpful D.L.E. TAs (Teaching Assistants); Naomi (Korean) and Tseme (Mongolian). Here they are taking the time to mark a pile of my computer lab mid-terms! What a blessing indeed!

The Doctrine of Christ - Christ in the Tabernacle

"And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." (Exodus 25:8)
The predominate "type" of Christ in the Old Testament is the tabernacle. The New Testament authority for recognizing its typological significance is Hebrews 9:1-24. Because the pattern for the tabernacle was designed by God, this had led some Bible scholars to conclude that even the most minute details of the tabernacle have a typological significance.
Illustration: In describing the incarnation (John 1:14), John uses the word for dwelt, which has the idea of pitching a tent or tabernacle. "And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us..." The tabernacle was the sanctuary of God, described as His dwelling place. Just as God lived in a tent in the wilderness, so the Son of God lived (and still lives) in a human body as the New Testament "tent".
Application: Today, the physical bodies of Christians serve as the temple (dwelling place) of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 6:19,20)
