President Kim's Book Published in English

I found this book in my mailbox this week. I thought it was so considerate and consistent with President Kim's Christian witness to personally sign each copy that he gave to each individual professor at Handong as a gift. Just try finding a boss like that! "Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work..." (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13) Posted by Picasa

Medical Check-Up Time for HGU Faculty!!!

All faculty who have been working at HGU before 2006 were required to get a medical check-up either September 12th or 13th. My human nature (aka "old man" for you Christian's out there) felt to complain at first, but then I realized how blessed I am to be able to get a free medical check-up (when the majority of the world has inadequate medical help available) and to work for a university that cares about the well-being of their employees! Open up and say, AHH! "HALLELUIA!" Attitude changes everything. Posted by Picasa

On Skies, the Ozone, Animals and God

That last photo of the bell-tower and the sky (just below this post) reminded me of the fact that today is "International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer". This is posted on the Canadian Wildlife Federation Wildlife Calendar 2006 on the wall just above my laptop. Then it made me think, "Who cares?!" I have once heard it said that animal and environmental activists would probably be more concerned about the fate of the donkey that carried Christ into Jerusalem on the week of his suffering, death and resurrection then they would be about the suffering Christ who died for their sins. So true. So true. If only people would worry less about the protection of "the heavens" and more about whether they shall make it to heaven! As for me....
"the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (2 Timothy 4:18)

I just HAD to get a photo of Kallibek and Su-Suk (both Handong Law School students) in their pink shirts as they were practicing for the 2pm English service at BukBu Church,ha!ha!

Charity Has Fallen!

Yes, Charity (my cousin, not the virtue!) fell down hard while roller-blading! She broke her wrist and has been in the hospital for a few weeks. Thank God she is in good spirits and taking it so wel! Here she is with the gorgeous flowers her parents sent her from Canada! I pray that you recover quickly, Charity, and hope to see you in church soon!

Charity has had quite a number of visitors while staying at Pohang's Saint Mary's Catholic Hospital. Here are some visitors from BukBu Church to see her on Sunday, September 10th: 1)Tim Northe 2)me, Andy Brown 3)Young-Sil,Su-Suk,Timmie and Jane. Posted by Picasa

Mongolian Night at the Soms, Saturday, September 9th

Great night of Mongolian cooking (provided by Nomeo, Bagi and Tseme-in the 2nd photo), Bible trivia and fun at Eric and Bonnie's apartment in Hwa-Ya-Dong (about a 15-minute drive from campus). Posted by Picasa
