On "Mu-Gong-Hwa Mountain" near the main entrance of HGU

Just in front of dorm 6&7

On campus, in front of dorm 2

"Multi-exposure" magic from the Picasa2 program. (2 in 1 shot) Anyway, Chilpo Beach and HGU are about 16 km from Pohang.

I'm used to them now but when I first came to Korea, I used to think these giant mirrors for sharp corners were so strange...

Some people can be so "crabby" in the morning!

Footprints in the sand

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." (Psalm 19:1)

A Korean farmer's work is never done!

What On Earth Has Happened To My Country?!

Canada-"marijuana loving, God rejecting, gay rights advocating, beer obsessed-pagan nation"

Canada-The Spiritual Death of a Nation...

I am Canadian by nationality but definitely not in my heart.
How my heart pains to see how my nation has been spiritually sabotaged.
Originally, Canada was known as "the dominion of Canada". Canada, a lot like America, was a nation of people mostly escaping spiritual persecution and seeking FREEDOM OF RELIGION, not FREEDOM FROM RELIGION. The reason it was named "Dominion of Canada" was not just a random choice of words but to express our nation's extreme respect and reverance for the one true God-Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ and ruler of all nations.
("For dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations." Psalm 23:28) (Praise the Lord, all the works everywhere in His dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul." Psalm 103:22)
Canada has recently become the 3rd nation to officially and legally allow gay marriage. This is not a point of triumph for Canada but a sign that she has turned her back on God.
I was greatly disappointed to see the above pictures of fellow-Canadians "celebrating Canada" in my hometown of Vancouver openly handing out joints from a random blog-site I happened to visit at http://lexygirl.blogspot.com
I was so disturbed that I did something I don't often do-I posted a comment. Here's what a wrote:
"Thanks for confirming that Canada is certainly a PAGAN nation....sad indeed! ("Drink & be merry for tomorrow we die" Isaiah 22:13) ("Just as a man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" Hebrews 9:27)About your PRIDE of Canada...("Before Him (God) all the nations are as NOTHING; they are regarded by Him as worthless and less than nothing." (Isaiah 40:17) ("But our citizenship is in heaven." (Philippians 3:20)"
Well, "Lexy" wrote me back "I am not pagan."
Really?! Sorry if the term offends. The Bible uses others, if that particular term disturbs you. Take your pick:
-heathen (Psalm 2)
-wicked (Psalm 1)
-those whose God is their stomache (1 Cor. 6:13, Philippians 3:19)
-children of disobedience (Ephesians 2)
-children of the devil(John 8:44)
...among many others. If you do not like any of these labels, get back to me and I will present with a list of others...I am NOT trying to offend, please believe that. I am only "speaking the truth in love" and part of that includes your need to know that there are only 2 kinds of people in God's eyes-Those who know Him and those who don't. I was suprised by the woman's response on her website that she is even "quite Christian actually". Really?! Do Christians openly advocate the taking of drugs as something cool and claim Canada to be "the best nation on earth"....I love it when people tell me to "lighten up"...meaning "Don't take things so seriously...Relax a little. Live it up!" Those don't sound like our biblical calling which is "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Romans 12:2) Jesus said, in the great Commission to "...teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20) Are you faithfully and obediently carrying out the desires/will of Christ!? Jesus said that if you are not with Him, you are against Him...
By the way, that brings up another point-The totally misused bible verse which can be found in courts of law, Supreme Courts and other official buildings worldwide. People absolutely love quoting the verse "and the truth shall set you free" but you better know the entire verse. "To the Jews who had believed Him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)

I am tired of the "back-packing, dope-smoking, beer-obsessed, "We Canadians are so cool" mentality of so many Canadians out there!!
Don't you realize that you are following the mentality of 95% of the world's populatons (even many Christians sadly to report!) who claim:
"Country X (their country)" is the best nation in the world!!!!
That's what we refer to as "frog in the well syndrome"-Not able to get your head out of your own immediate surroundings. The reason God put you where HE PUT YOU is not so you can idolize your nation but so that "men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him." (Acts 17:27)
In the spirit of the "New Canada" I have written a new national athem. (As Lexy wrote, "Happy Cannabis Day!")

O CANADA

O Canada,
Back-sliding, pagan land.
True pleasure's love
Has brought you deep in sin.

With prideful hearts,
You leave your God
The false north
Weak and diseased.

God bring this land
Humbly to its knees.
O, Canada,
Our God is waiting for thee.
O, Canada,
Our God is waiting for thee.

Psalm 2
"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD, and against His Anointed,
saying, "Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us."
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh:
the LORD shall have them in derision.
Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath,
and vex them in His sore displeasure.
Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion.
I will decare the decree: The LORD hath said unto me,
"Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance,
and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron,
thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings:
be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way,
when His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him."

"Put them in fear, O LORD; that the nations may know themselves to be but men." (Psalm 9:20)

"The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God. God is not in all his thoughts." (Psalm 10:4)
