Oh, the JOY of gifts!

This was given to me by Seong-Yun of Gamma class...I look like a "Spanish fly" (with a red rose in my hair?!) caught in a web while either Karly (a 3 week camp teacher who left last week) or a spider is threatening to kill me....Hmm...Just what is the message here, boys and girls? ha!ha!

I had to laugh when I saw this poster in one of the uni classes. I had never even heard of a yo-yo (apart from the toy on a string!) before this camp. As you can see, yo-yos are done by bending your knees and extending your hands forward. It's a (fun?) form of punishment for late students given out by Daniel when students are late for morning exercise at 7:15 each morning.

Jacquiline Thompson, one of the best middle school teachers at camp. Jacquiline had never missed one day of morning exercise until this morning as she was feeling under the weather. Jacqueline is definitely one of my favorite people to work with at the camp. Her enthusiasm, spirit and energy are like a breath of fresh-air for students and teachers alike.

My DELTA Class Students During the Last (4th) Week of Camp

Park Young-Won, 26, is from Sukpo in SaChun (near Jinju). He collects insects and old coins. His motto is "Smile!" Young-Won moved down to Delta from Alpha and so this is his 2nd week with me. (1st and last weeks of camp--50%-with me....) You've come a long way, Yong-Won! It's such a pleasure to be teaching you again!

Kim Do-Hyun, 25, is from Jinju. He enjoys inline skating and he especially enjoys the speed. He wanted to share with the class that due to a big dog biting him when he was in elementary school, he has a very long scar running down his leg. Of course the guys wanted to see it but I believe keeping clothes on during class is a pretty fair rule, ha!ha! His motto is "The present is the most important." Do-Hyun was moved down from Alpha which means that his first week of camp was with me and the last as well! Great to be teaching him again!

Heo Soo-Ryeon, 21, is from Masan. She enjoys watching movies and seeing the stars (the ones in the sky that is...). She is constantly trying to convince the guys in her class that her boyfriend looks like Gun SungWoo who is a famous and apparently good-looking Korean actor (to which the gentlemen of Delta class start fake vomiting to show their disgust, ha!ha!). Her motto is "Always have positive thinking."

Heo Sang-Bum, 26, is from Jinju. He enjoys playing soccer and on-line games. His favorite on-line game is "Dungeons and Fighting". One extremely interesting point about Sang-Bum is that he has LIVED on Dokdo. (Dokdo is the "highly disputed" island between Korea and Japan). He was stationed there while in the military for 2 years. Before this, I had never even met someone who had BEEN to Dokdo let alone LIVE THERE! (It's not a big place at all. A few rocks in the sea really!) His motto is "Enjoy my life always."
