The beautiful new banner on the side of Hyoam Chapel. This is basically the first thing visitors see when entering the campus. Reminds me of the verse: "I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." (I Timothy 2:8)

Today at 2pm in Hyoam Chapel was the "Welcoming Ceremony" for Freshman students entering Handong. Highlights were prayer (of course! :-)), the sermon by Senior Champlain, Pastor Hwang, "Congratulatory Song" by the campus club "Pitch Pipe", the formal welcome by the president, freshmen representatives repeating "the Handong Honor Code" and "the Blessing Song".

The beautiful "Blessing Song" (if you can read Korean! :-)) which we sang to the incoming freshman students.

Will you choose to glorifiy God in accepting Jesus as Lord and following Him or shall you wait until Judgment Day when God will be glorfied in His just judgment?

The Doctrine of God - Law of God

"The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide." (Psalm 37:31)
The law of God is expressed in different forms, relating to different areas of His creation. The physical law of God includes the laws of nature which govern the continuous physical existence of this world (Gen. 8:22,Col.1:17). The moral law, also called "the perfect law of liberty" (James 1:25), governs the immaterial issues of life (2 Tim. 3:17). The social law of God affects interpersonal relationships and can be summarized by "the royal law" (James 2:8). The spiritual law deals with a man's relationship with God. It is summarized in "the first and great commandment" (Matt. 22:37-38).
Illustration: The purpose of the law is to reveal the sovereignty of God (Ex. 20:2), to place a restraint on the sinner (68:7,8), to show the greatness and reality of sin (Rom. 3:19-20), and to lead the sinner to Christ (Gal. 3:24). The purpose of the law did not change with the gospel. When the Judaizers in Galatia sought to teach their erroneous view of the law, they failed to realize that the law has never been able to save anyone.
Application: As Christians, we should be concerned to live decently and orderly.

Urgent Prayer Request

A dear Korean brother from the English translation department (Graduate school), Daniel, has asked for prayer. He was playing with his son, jumping on the bed, and his son fell off the bed and banged his head. His mother went with the child, Seong Jew (English name "Samuel), to Seoul immediately to a specialist. Daniel joined them immediately after. They are not sure what the extent of the damage is but they fear that it might be serious brain damage. PLEASE pray that God will take control of this situation and that it might be His will to heal this precious child.
Lord, I pray that you might show yourself strong and mighty in this situation. I pray that your loving, healing hands might be upon Seung-Jew and that you will guide the doctors in determining what is the damage and what needs to be done. I also ask that you give comfort to Daniel and his godly wife and that you would give them peace that this world cannot know. I pray that you might be magnified even through this tragedy. In Jesus' name I pray.
