"Prayer is the most important thing in my life. If I should neglect prayer for a single day, I should lose a great deal of the fire of faith." (Martin Luther)
Scott Lincoln and family enjoying the Christmas Dinner. Although I haven't spent much time with them, this is one of my favorite families on campus. They are really doing a wonderful job raising their precious daughter, Sarah, in "the fear of the Lord". Their godly joy can be seen even in a photo! Scott's Mom will be joining our staff next semester and we're all looking forward to meeting/working with her.
Another shot of the Duvernays (this time in front of the Christmas tree! :-)) Tom is one of the deacons at HIC (Handong International Church) which I had the pleasure of attending today. This really is a wonderful family and they have opened their hearts & home (in Kyung-Jew) to MANY students and staff for barbecues and parties!
I LOVE this photo as it just screams out, "THE GUYS!!" (These 4 are the "faithful monks" who usually make the Saturday shopping runs at Walmart/Emart-Tim, Chris, Mark and Mike.) Got news that Mike Sandez will be leaving Handong at the end of this semester. His presence will truly be missed. Students at the law school (& Mike himself! :-)) broke down crying when they heard that he (one of their favorite instructors at the law school here) was leaving...
Not a good picture (as I still had the camera set on "Night Portrait"...) but this is Alex Bishop and his fiance who are to get married this February. Came as quite a surprise to all!!! (especially to the "monks of the DLE"!) Pastor Young-Ho, who broke the news at the party, stands behind ready to pray his blessings over them. CONGRATULATIONS, ALEX!
The Doctrine of God - Cosmological Argument for the Existence of God
"Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." (Romans 1:20)
The argument from cause and effect is one logical argument for the existence of God. As everything that exists must have an adequate cause, so an all-powerful and intelligent God is an adequate cause to explain the universe. The Scripture identifies that "cause" as the creative power of God. (Gen. 1:1; Roman. 1:19-20)
