"The statue symbolizing the Korean War depicts the past sufferings of the Korean people and their determination to achieve the national harmony, unification and prosperity. The external part of the statue represents the dramatic reunion of an elder brother who was a Republic of Korea Army officer and his younger brother who was a soldier of the North Korean Army on the Korean War battlefield. Inside the dome is a mosaic picture portraying the spirit of Korean people who have overcome the predicament of the War. Engraved on the floor is a map of 16 allies which assisted the Republic of Korea in the Korean War."

In front of "The 88 tank" at the Korea War Museum" which brings back memories from my Canadian Armored Corps. days. About this tank: length-8.48m, max. speed-65 km/h, crew-4 men, width-3.61m, armament-105mm gun, weight-51 tons.

Written on the 88 tank's info plaque: "This tank was designed by the Korean Defense Industrial Corporation to maeuver in Korea's rugged terrain. It was nicknamed the "88 tank", manufactured in large quantities, and deployed to all ROK Armed Forces. Its firepower, mobility and armor protection are superior to any modern enemy tank." "superior to any modern enemy tank"...hmm...could possibly be a biased opinion, don't you think?
